Congratulations to our chapter president Linda Lucas Hardy who received the Award for Outstanding Achievement at the CPSA 17th Annual Exhibition! Congratulations is also extended to our other two chapter members who were accepted into the national exhibition -- a great achievement as well! Way to go!

Has had two of her pieces selected as Finalists in the Animal/Wildlife category of The 26th Annual Artists Magazine contest! The two colored pencil works chosen were "Hitchcock" and "Wind Spirit" (displayed below). Her name will be listed in the December 2009 issue of The Artists Magazine. In addition, "Wind Spirit" and her piece "Breaking Up the Monotony" (shown further down) were juried into the Irving Arts Association 8th Annual Wildlife Art Show to. "Breaking up the Monotony" subsequently won Best of Show!
Earlier this summer, Leslie Evans also won First Place in Florida Wildlife Magazine's 2009 Art Contest. Her piece, "Breaking up the Monotony" will be on the cover of the magazine's July/August issue. Florida Wildlife Magazine will also print 1000 signed and numbered limited-edition prints of her peice.
In addition, Leslie's "Silverback" won the Award of Excellence at the Society of Animal Artists 49th Annual Art and Animal Exhibition! The exhibition is being held at The Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure in Salina, Kansas from September 5 to November 1, 2009. This piece will also be traveling in the Society of Animal Artists 2010 National Art Tour!
"Swimming Lesson" (below) won 1st Place in the Pastel/Graphics category of the Richardson Civic Art Society 2009 Members Show!
Helen won a Blue Ribbon (First Place) at the State Fair of Texas in the Animal Category for her piece "Chesapeak"! The picture will hang in the Creative Arts Building for the duration of the 2009 State Fair of Texas -- September 25 through October 18.
Helen also won the "Horses in Art" Magazine Cover Competition for "Hello World"
"Now You Know" by Linda Lucas Hardy has been accepted into the traveling museum exhibition, "The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century." This exhibition started in early 2008 and will run through 2010. Ten to fifteen museums will host the show which is currently in Shreveport, LA through Febuary 15, 2009 at the R. W. Norton Art Gallery .
Her colored pencil piece "Earlylight Dreamcatcher" won 2nd Place in the Drawing category at Irving Art Association's Unconditional Love - 1st Juried Pet Art Show!
Phyllis also took two 1st place awards and three 2nd place awards at the 2009 Texas State Fair in the ceramics division!

In addition, she had three pieces accepted into the Irving Art Associations 1st Annual Statewide Unconditional Love - Juried Pet Art Show and one piece accepted into the Irving Art Association 8th Annual National Wildlife Juried Show. Way to go, Beverly!



Will be participating in the group SHADOWS EXHIBITION with three paintings: Rock Crystal Age, Setting the Stage, and Snow at the Laura Moore Fine Art Studio August 8-September 9, 2009, 107 S. Tennessee, Mc Kinney, TX 75069. Reception is August 8th. Also she will be participating in: The 2009 Mc Kinney Art Studio Tour on Saturday November 14th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday November 15th, noon to 4 p.m. The Calumet Art Studio will be open to share the art work of Sandy Moss, as well as studio space and class room-student examples. Demonstrations and refreshments available. Enjoy the varied media works of the many artists of Mc Kinney.
